Flexible PCB, also called as flex PCB or FPC board, enables the circuitry to be desined to fit the electronic device or product, which is totally different from building a device to conform to the circuit board.

What are the advantages of flexible PCB?
1. Space saving: Flexible PCB only takes about 20% of the space and weight of ordinary circuit board, and it can be bended or folded freely to fit in the layout requirement. Normally, the FPC are used in the electronic products which has higher requirement of density, miniaturization and reliability. Therefore, they are widely used in aerospace, laptops, digital cameras and military products.
2. Cost saving: Flexible PCB are able to be bended or folded to fit in most packaging boxes.
3. Reliability maximization: Flexible PCB can reduce the amount of interconnects such as wire, cables, connectors, and it in return reduces the number of solder joints. Therefore, many potential function failure can be avoided without many connectors.
